What students said about Don Quijote Barcelona

It was a great experience to spend 3 weeks in Barcelona where I met people from the whole world and get in contact with the spanish lifestyle. (Nicola, 18)

I was nervous when I arrived here in Barcelona alone because it was the first experience to live in foreign country, but it was so easy to meet nice friends and teachers, I am so appreciated to everyone who helped me a lot in Spain. (Maiko, 26)

Barcelona – info

Being the capital of the community of Catalonia, Barcelona is the second biggest town in Spain regarding its population. This city is a modern cultural hotspot and a very famous tourist destination. It houses architectural masterpieces of Gaudi & Montaner as part of the UNESCO world heritage and it is host of international sport, fashion events as well as conferences & expositions.

On top of that,Barcelona is seen as a “transport hub” with its seaport, international airport and extensive train & motorway connections with the rest of Europe.

The average annual daytime temperature here is 21 Degrees Celsius, ideal to enjoy its 7 beautiful beaches and many parks, the most famous of them certainly Park Güell, designed by the famous artist Antoni Gaudi.

Barcelona is also home to a great amount of historic sights, like “Barri Gotic”, the Gothic Quarter, with its medieval buildings.  As a contrast you can find original & innovative architecture like the international symbol of Barcelona:  The basilica of “La Sacrada Familia”.

Things to do in Barcelona:

Barri Gòtic: Barcelona’s birth place, narrow streets, cathedrals, Plazas, Tapas bars.

Montjuic: Climb up the hill with the magnificent views.

Raval area: Local shops, great food, music, art & urban culture.

Festes de la Mercè in September: Gigantic party with free concerts.

Eixample area: Wide avenues, modernist architecture, stores & clubs.

The beaches & sports harbour: Stroll, sunbath or get a bike & see it all.

Gaudí city tour: See La Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, la Pedrera …

ART/ HISTORY/ LITERATURE: Addressed to students with at least an intermediate level (B1), can be combined with Spanish language lessons, classes specialising on historic events, Spanish & Latin-American literature, artwork and culture.

COOKING: Roll up your sleeves & learn about the regional cuisine, create & taste the flavours of the region, a great way to unwind & get stuck in, several lessons per week.

SALSA DANCING: Study this “art form” and you will discover more than just a new dance: learn about the appropriate attire, facial expressions, passionate dance moves, foot work and attitude. A great way to get active!

Don Quijote schools are also offering various other afternoon/weekend activities e.g.  city tours, visits to museums, excursions to nearby towns & villages as well as Tapas tours & movie nights.
