What students said about Don Quijote Madrid

Language course at don Quijote has been certainly the best chance to improve my spanish skills. In 2 weeks I’ve improved as much as during nine-month course in homeland. (Einar Namme, 35)

I’ve spent 1 month in Madrid and another month in Barcelona. I’d like to say that I had a great time at don Quijote in both cities. The teachers and the way of teaching are very efficient. Besides that, the infrastructure of the school is amazing. Thanks for providing me an outstanding stay in Spain. (Iramaia Beltrame, 25)

Known for its football club, the Royal Family and its fantastic art collections, Madrid has a lot to offer: You can spend your days strolling through the streets admiring the old architecture, mainly dating back to the 17th & 18th century, as well as the impressive modern buildings that reflect Madrids, now, cosmopolitan vibe.

Or take a day trip to the awe inspiring “El Escorial” – monastery on the outskirts of town, where most of Madrids former regents have been buried.

If you are more interested in experiencing the Spanish way of partying, this city is one of the top metropolis for “celebrating the night”, which often causes traffic jams, even at 4am in the morning.

The end of May, for example, is a fantastic time to witness & become part of Madrids big San Isidro fiesta with its fairs, dances & rather controversial bull fights.

Things to do in Madrid:

Gran Via: shopping, bars, restaurants, casinos

Plaza Mayor: Statues, cafeterias & ambience.

Palacio Real: Official residence of King Felipe VI, used for state ceremonies.

El Rastro antiques and vintage market: Every Sunday – hustle & bustle alert!

Chocolatería San Ginés: Try ‘churros con chocolate’ the traditional way!

El Oso y el Madroño: Famous symbol & meeting point at Puerta del Sol.

La Boca del Lobo: Dance the night away for free at the club’s concerts.

El Escorial Monastery: Pantheon to the Spanish monarchs, north of Madrid.

ART/HISTORY/LITERATURE: Addressed to students with at least an intermediate level (B1), can be combined with Spanish language lessons, classes specialising on historic events, Spanish & Latin-American literature, artwork and culture.

COOKING: Roll up your sleeves & learn about the regional cuisine, create & taste the flavours of the area, a great way to unwind & get stuck in, several lessons per week.

FLAMENCO or SALSA DANCING: Study these “art forms” and you will discover more than just a new dance: learn about the appropriate attire, facial expressions, passionate dance moves, foot stamping and attitude. A great way to get active!

Don Quijote schools are also offering various other afternoon/weekend activities e.g.  city tours, visits to museums, excursions to nearby towns & villages as well as Tapas tours & movie nights.
