Playa del Carmen

The small town of Playa del Carmen is situated on the so-called ‘Riviera Maya’, a name that hints at the area’s rich pre-Columbian history: whether it is the site of Tulúm, Chichén Itzá or Cobe, you will be confronted with the mayan’s incredible astronomical & mathematical knowledge, combined with a wealth of Yucatán’s flora & fauna. This stretch of coast, close to the worlds second largest coral reef is also a centre of water sports: from kayaking, to windsurfing, Scuba diving & snorkelling, there is no way to get bored of your surroundings.

Things to do near Playa del Carmen:

Cenotes: These clear fresh water sinkholes are just incredible! E.g. take a trip to ‘Cenote Azul’ – jump in, swim, snorkel, relax & share your gorgeous selfie on our Facebook Page.

Mayan ruins: Take a day trip to the the busy Mayan site of Tulum which has its own beach or check out the tallest Mayan pyramid at Coba – this one is climbable & has slightly less visitors.

Playa de Akumal: Take a taxi to the beautiful bay, just 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen & swim or snorkel with Hawksbill, Green and Loggerhead turtles.
