What students said about Don Quijote Tenerife

I first heard about don Quijote from a friend. I decided to study in Tenerife and I had the best time of my life! I met friends for life and people from all over the world. The school is great with a cosy environment and the best teachers I ever had. When I got home from Tenerife after three months I missed it so much I decided to go back for six more weeks. If you have doubts, don’t think twice, just do it! (Caroline Lehnberg, 21)

I spent 12 weeks in Tenerife. I lernt a lot of Spanish and almost forgot german & portugese. (Jessica, 21)

Tenerife – info

The biggest of the seven Canary Islands, Tenerife is situated in the Atlantic Ocean not far from Moroccos west coast and almost certainly belongs to Europes sunniest spots – it is one of the reasons that makes this delightful island such a hotspot for a great deal of travelers.

Tenerife is of volcanic origin and has an extraordinary blend of rough territory, sensational scenery and a sub-tropical atmosphere with temperatures averaging 20°C – 22°C in the winter months and 26°C – 28°C in the summer.

Mount Teide is Tenerife’s highest peak and in the winter you might get as lucky as to go up there for a snowy hike in the morning and descend later on, to end the day with a sunny ocean surf in crystal clear waters.

Things to do in Puerto de la Cruz:

Sitio Litre Garden: This Parkland houses the oldest native Drago tree in town as well as ornate fountains, colonnades, orchids & an 18th century villa.

Museo Arqueológico: Learn about the history & lifestyle of the ancient Guanches, a community that settled in the Canary Islands approx. 1000BC.

Surf: Benefit from the pleasant water temperatures whilst signing up for a lesson in wave riding with La Marea Surf School at Playa Martianez.

Regulo: A truly rustic Canarian restaurant boasting a stunning courtyard, antiques, hanging bacon, tasty food & characterful service in a 200 year old town house.

ART/ HISTORY/ LITERATURE: Addressed to students with at least an intermediate level (B1), can be combined with Spanish language lessons, classes specialising on historic events, Spanish & Latin-American literature, artwork and culture.

COOKING: Roll up your sleeves & learn about the regional cuisine, create & taste the flavours of the area, a great way to unwind & get stuck in, several lessons per week.

SALSA DANCING: Study this “art form” and you will discover more than just a new dance: learn about the appropriate attire, facial expressions, passionate dance moves, foot stamping and attitude. A great way to get active!

Don Quijote schools are also offering various other afternoon/weekend activities e.g. Scuba Diving course, city tours, visits to museums, excursions to nearby towns & villages as well as Tapas tours & movie nights.
