Seville – info
No better place to round up your language travels by adding an Andalusian cooking course. Also a truly motivational event to take part in is the ‘Feria de Abril’, a big fun fair as you know it, however completely “flamencorized”: wherever you look and hear, at this giant party you will be surrounded by the music, the dresses, the foot stamping & the clacking of the castanets…
The town also houses an array of interesting historical buildings e.g. the ‘Alcazar’ fortress, the ‘Torre de Oro’ tower as well as one of the glorious backdrops featured in the film Star Wars (episode I & II): The ‘Plaza de España’ Square.
Seville contains Spains only River – port, in the Guadalquivir river, which once was an essential hotspot for trades between Spain and the so called “New World”.
Things to do in Seville:
Alcázar: 13th century – Moorish fort with truly invigorating patterns, patios, fountains, gardens & orange trees .
Mercado Lonja del Barranco: Find the best local produce in this creation of Gustave Eiffel, an impressive building on the riverside. A must-do for all foodies!
Museo del Flamenco: Learn about the history of this ardent dance.
Paseo de Cristóbal Colón: Party the night away along this elegant avenue with Guadalquivir-river promenade.
Hospital de los Venerables Sacerdotes: The grand baroque villa & former hospice for elderly priests is now housing the most flamboyant art gallery of Seville, including masterpieces of Velásquez, Pacheco, Pavarozzi ..
